Most self test home kits require a blood or urine sample. Tests that require a blood sample will come complete with a safety lancet which will allow you to draw blood from a finger quickly and painlessly. Please follow the below simple steps on how to use the safety lancet. For further instructions please refer to the individual instructions enclosed per test packaging.

            

 
Tear Open the Alcohol Preparation pad.


Clean the test finger. Middle finger is easier because of its thinner skin


Push the key straight in, until it 'clicks' or locks, then twist the knob twice 

 
Pull the key directly out of the Lancet


Place the Lancet at the finger and press the trigger to prick the finger. 

 
Collect about 2 to 4 drops of blood using the Pipette

 
Place 2 drops of blood into the Sample Well using the Pipette. Put enough in to cover the base of the well.

 
Open the cap of the Diluent Bottle


 

 
Place 2 drops of Test Liquid into the Sample Well slowly

 
*NEGATIVE RESULT*

IMPORTANT 

It is imperative that a positive HIV test result be followed by a Western Blot or PCR test performed by a doctor or clinic to confirm your HIV status. Once confirmed then seek the best course of treatment. Early detection is a major factor in life expectancy, test early and be sure.
